Staying on the Surface

I studied a lot when I was younger, and I study a lot today. As a teenager I maintained numerous journals and word journals. As a young adult I kept a Russian-English dictionary I made that was hundreds of pages long and then did one that was Russian-German.

However, I am going to start fostering children, and I need to stay on the surface more so that I can help the children I work with attach to me. I need to be present for them. Thus, my blog posts are short. Thus, I am in Sacramento the next two weeks staying busy with family and not just studying all the time.

I told a coach about how I had “studied too much” when I was younger and he merely said that it was good preparation. I think when we are first derailed from our early life plans, we dismiss what we were doing, but it often comes back full circle if we surrender to the process.

About Christian Minus Christianity

“I do think it’s important to dismantle imperial Christianity in a form, and for the reign of God to liberate the oppressed and God’s entire creation from systems of supremacy, exploitation, and destruction. I also believe that every theologian and Christian are doing theology from their own context, wherever they are. All theologies are contextual.”
