Amidst this devastation, he learned not to dwell too long on ideas, for heavy thoughts collapse like houses.
He grasped only what wouldn’t drown him.
He knew that some of what he learned would lift him above the rubble, while some would drag him into a labyrinth without walls or end.
So he chose what resembled light: light, fleeting, capable of carrying without carrying.
Anything that didn’t transform left him feeling cold.
Every time the war closed a path, he opened one within himself.
And when it thought it had finally cornered him, it discovered too late that it was walking inside him… not in front of him.
