Two years ago
And I apologize to my friends
For the affection that dried up between us
And I apologize to the mirror
For my face that aged suddenly
And to the children
For their crushed childhood
And to the rose trapped in their laughter
For it filled with smoke
And I apologize to the youth
For exchanging youthful vigor
For a relief box
And to the neighbor’s cat for its severed tail
And if I could
I would apologize to all mothers
And to the eyes of little girls
But I will not go to my tomorrow with apologies
For I have hidden in it a rendezvous
With life.
